It’s nearly summer in East Yorkshire — the seagulls are louder, the evenings are longer, and at Voila, the shipping just keeps getting smoother. Here’s what we’ve rolled out this week 👇

🛠️ Fixes & Improvements

We’ve fixed an issue where fields like shipment_id were being sent as strings instead of integers.

DPD Tracking – Back in Sync
Fixed an issue where DPD tracking wasn't updating properly. Everything should now be flowing as expected.

Royal Mail – Mapping Fixes
Certain mapping events have been corrected to ensure better consistency and reliability across Royal Mail shipments.

Label Printing – PDF Error Resolved

Commercial invoices generated through the Voila template editor can now be sent automatically for FedEx V2. We’ve also added a new field to suppress invoice sending where required.

You can now specify a branding name under Starlink for clearer labelling and customer comms.

DHLParcelUKCloud – Postcode Parsing
Fixed a bug where spaces in postcodes were being ignored. Address matching should now be much more reliable.

Parcelforce – New Name Fields
Added Business Name|B and Business Name|P for business and private shipment types, giving you more accurate label generation.

Windsor Framework – Smarter B2B Detection
If a business name is included in a shipment call, our Windsor Framework logic will now automatically classify it as B2B.

A few important courier updates this week to keep things running smoothly and compliantly across the board:

🔧 Courier Fixes & Updates

  • Parcelforce – Windsor Framework Fix
We’ve updated how Parcelforce handles recipient data under the Windsor Framework. Business shipments now require BusinessName|B, while private shipments use BusinessName|P. All handled automatically behind the scenes.

  • Starlinks – Branding Improvements
We’ve added a new branding_name field to the Starlinks integration, helping clean up how the courier is presented on the platform.

  • DHL – Postcode Format Adjusted
Postcode formatting for DHL has been updated to meet their latest requirements.

  • DPD – NI EORI Fix
We’ve resolved an issue affecting EORI numbers for Northern Ireland.

  • DPD – Sale Type Detection
The sale type for DPD shipments will now auto-fill based on the company_name field — saving you time and reducing errors on commercial shipments.

As always, these updates are aimed at reducing friction and keeping your shipments compliant — more coming soon.

Here’s what’s new this week — a mix of platform upgrades, courier fixes, and a fresh look at some of our core tools:

📚 New Documentation System Now Live
We’ve rolled out our new documentation platform! It’s faster, easier to navigate, and better structured to help you find exactly what you need — whether you're building an integration or just checking a field.

📦 An Post Integration Released
Our An Post integration is now live, with full support for multiple tracking numbers and multi-parcel shipments. Great news for anyone shipping in or out of Ireland.

🛠️ Fixes & Improvements

  • Fixed an issue with AI-generated shipment descriptions not showing correctly

  • Resolved a label creation problem on DX Express

  • Fixed weight calculation issues and error 500s on Whistl

  • Corrected how UKIMS numbers are handled for DPD

🔧 Windsor Framework Compliance
We’ve made necessary updates to Amazon Shipping and DHLParcelUKCloud to align with the Windsor Framework. HS Code fields are now limited to 6 characters where required — keeping things compliant and customs-friendly.

🎨 UI Touch-ups
We’ve made some interface improvements across key areas like API Accounts, Registered Auths, and the Courier Directory — things should feel a bit cleaner and easier to use.

Thanks for keeping up — and as always, we're here to make shipping simpler, smarter, and fully compliant.

Spring cleaning, but make it backend 🧼
While the daffs are blooming and the seagulls keep yelling, we’ve been sweeping through some technical dust and adding a few new tricks behind the scenes. Here’s what’s fresh from the dev forge this week:

New & Improved

Hosted Pages

Say hello to one of the biggest features we have released in a while! Hosted pages allow you to generate a link for one hour that you can send to anyone for easy onboarding. You can edit the page with your own logo; colors and you can even select which couriers you'd like to show to your customers! Best of all - you can do this all through your API, making it possible to onboard anyone with the press of a button!

Speedier label PDFs (especially for DPD)
We’ve swapped out the PDF service used in label creation. The result? Snappier generation times, especially for couriers where we add logos, like DPD.

FedEx: Now Handling Dangerous Goods
The Dangerous Goods framework is now live for FedEx.

FedEx v2: Commercial Invoices On-Demand
We added fetch_commercial_invoice as a courier-specific setting in FedEx v2.

🛠️ Fixes & Adjustments

• Fixed an issue with BJS labels not printing properly.
• ArrowXL parcel limit bumped up from 15 to 26.
• Generalised the Windsor Framework fields to play nice across the board.
• New login page is live! Also: we squashed a few launch bugs that popped up right after it went out. Thanks to everyone who spotted them fast.

That’s it for now — but more tweaks and polish coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy the rare sunbeam, and maybe don’t trust the weather just yet. 🌦️

April 4th, 2025

Thanks for sticking with us! Here’s what’s new this week:

  • We’ve added a new API called separate parcel labels — this lets each parcel in a multi-parcel shipment generate its own label, making things much easier for customers with complex orders.

  • You’ll also notice a redesigned login page. It now matches the rest of our platform for a more consistent experience, especially if you’re switching between products.

  • And finally, we’ve fixed some courier-specific bugs that were causing trouble for a few users — including updates for Transglobal, ArrowXL, Starlinks, DHL, Amazon, APC, Royal Mail and more.

See you next week!

Spring’s creeping into East Yorkshire 🌱 — the daffodils are out, and the seagulls are already acting like they own Bridlington. As we pack away our thickest coats (hopefully for good), the team at Voila has been busy giving you a smoother, smarter shipping experience — with a little AI magic sprinkled in.

Here’s what’s new this week:

✨ New Features

  • Track without logging in - Customers can now track their shipments without needing a courier account. That means fewer passwords, fewer clicks, and faster updates. Just the info they need, when they need it. Simple as that.

  • Smarter parcel tracking in the UI - Previously, if a shipment had multiple parcels, we pulled the tracking status from just one of them (oops). Now, each parcel proudly shows its own status — no more guessing games.

  • Courier Errors Page - now for everyone

No more trawling through logs or support tickets. The new Courier Errors page gives every user a clear overview of issues, with AI-generated summaries to help diagnose problems faster and smarter.

🛠️ Adjustments & Fixes

Tidied up label sizing for PPI couriers — everything prints the way it should.

FedEx label data cleaned up for better reliability in label creation.

Tax ID fields added for Royal Mail and Procarrier ‘ship-from’ addresses — now supporting requirements for Brazil, South Korea, Mexico and more.

Smart Shipping Rules fix — the “Exclude SKU” setting now works as expected for accurate order filtering.

February 28th, 2025

It's the tail end of winter in East Yorkshire — a few brave daffodils are making an appearance, and so are the first hints of spring. While the weather decides whether to rain or shine, we've been busy adding a bit more sparkle to Voila. Here's what’s new this week 🌼👇

🎉 Rebranding Magic
The product you knew as Shipping has had a glow-up — say hello to Voila! A little more charm, a lot more clarity. Same powerful tools, just a new name that better reflects the magic we’re delivering behind the scenes.

📦 DPD Germany – SMS Notifications Are In
We've added SMS notifications as a courier-specific setting for DPD Germany. Your customers can now get real-time updates on their deliveries straight to their phones — because no one likes surprises when it comes to parcels.

🇪🇺 DPD – Windsor Framework Ready
We've done the behind-the-scenes work to keep everything running smoothly under the Windsor Framework. It’s all a bit political, but the upshot? Less friction, better compliance, and more seamless shipping between GB and NI.

☘️ GLS Ireland – Fully Integrated
The GLS Ireland integration is now complete! You can now connect, label, and track with ease — one more courier, one less headache.

⚡ Shipment Export – Now With Extra Oomph
We’ve tuned up the engine behind shipment exports — they’re faster, leaner, and better at handling high volumes. Your exports will now zip along nicely, no caffeine required.

🚀 Rush Tracking – Fully Live
Rush Tracking is now fully integrated into Voila! If you're using Rush for post-purchase tracking, everything’s now neatly stitched together. One less tab to juggle, one more reason to relax.

📍 DX Freight – Tracking, Sorted
DX Freight tracking is now live! You can follow large and bulky shipments every step of the way. Big parcels deserve big visibility.

That’s a wrap for this week!
As always, we’re here to make logistics feel less like logistics. Got feedback, ideas, or courier tales to share? Drop us a line — we love hearing from you. Until next time: stay warm, ship well, and keep an eye out for those early spring blooms 🌷.

February 14th, 2025

It’s Valentine’s Day in East Yorkshire 💌 — whether you're spending it with roses or Royal Mail, we’ve been busy showering Voila with a little extra love. This week’s updates are all about smoother labels, better returns, and more helpful notifications. Here’s what’s new 👇

💨 Rush Courier – Faster Label Endpoints
We’ve fine-tuned the single job endpoint for label creation with Rush Courier. Expect smoother requests, faster responses, and fewer hiccups when creating those all-important shipping labels.

🔁 Yodel Returns – Order ID Now Included
Returns just got tidier. We’ve added the order ID to Yodel Returns, neatly mapped to the reference ID in label creation. This means better tracking and fewer mysteries in your returns process.

🧠 Rush Courier – Built-In Backup Labels
If Rush ever forgets to return label details (we all have off days), Voila now steps in to generate the label internally. Your shipments won’t miss a beat.

🖨️ ArrowXL – Label Format Fix
We’ve updated ArrowXL labels to split the reference number over two lines. It prints cleaner, scans better, and keeps things looking smart.

📣 API Notifications – Now With Extra Endpoints
Stay in the loop! We’ve added fresh notification endpoints, making it easier to track what’s happening and when. More visibility, more control.

That’s all from us this week 💝
We’re keeping the chocolates close and the shipping steady. If you’ve got feedback, courier drama, or ideas for what you'd love to see next — send them our way. Until next time: stay warm, ship smart, and maybe treat yourself to something sweet 🍫.

February 7th, 2025

We’re deep into February now — skies grey, cuppas frequent, and Valentine’s Day just around the corner. While East Yorkshire patiently waits for spring, we’ve been busy clearing up a few things behind the scenes. Think of this week’s update as a tidy-up with benefits 🍃

📩 Child Account Data Export – Landing in the Right Inbox
We’ve fixed a pesky issue where exported data emails weren’t reaching the person who requested them. Now they land exactly where they should — straight to you, no detours.

🧭 ArrowXL Address Mapping – County Now Included
Address line 4 for ArrowXL now includes the county. It’s a tiny change, but one that helps ensure your parcels find their way without fuss.

🔎 Address Lookup Endpoint – All the Details, Always
The address lookup endpoint has had a little upgrade — it now returns full address details in the response. More visibility, fewer gaps, smoother shipping.

📞 Procarrier Label Creation – Now Featuring Landlines
We’ve updated our logic so Procarrier labels now include landline numbers where available. More contact options, better delivery success.

That’s it for this week’s little lift 🌬️
Nothing flashy, just the kind of updates that quietly make everything work better. If you've got feedback, ideas, or your own county-related courier story — we're all ears. Until next time: stay dry, ship steady, and maybe pop the kettle on ☕.

January 31st, 2025

We’re saying goodbye to January (finally). The skies over East Yorkshire are still 90% cloud, 10% wishful thinking — but inside, we’re lighting things up with a few solid upgrades to Voila. Labels, pallets, priorities — it’s all in here. Let’s get into it ⬇️

⚖️ Pallex Pallet Weight – Now Rounded, Not Rejected
Entered a decimal weight by accident? No more label rejections. We now auto-round to the nearest whole number when creating Pallex labels. Because fractional pallets don’t make much sense anyway.

📦 Wayfair Integration – Reference Field Gets Smarter
We’ve improved how we choose the Reference in Wayfair labels. If there's a courier.poNumber, we’ll use that. If not, we fall back to the Reference field. Still nothing? We’ll use the Order Number. Logical, layered, lovely.

🚀 Rush Courier – Fully Integrated and Ready to Go
Rush Courier is now officially part of the Voila family! Fast-moving shipments just got even faster — hook it up and start shipping at speed.

That’s it for this week’s drop 🌧️
January’s been long, but progress is progress — and this week’s updates are all about shipping smarter, with fewer roadblocks. Got thoughts or feedback? Always happy to hear them. Until next time: stay dry, stay warm, and keep those pallets full.
