☁️ Voila Update – 19 April 2024

Spring has officially arrived in East Yorkshire — the daffodils are out, the lawnmowers are back in business, and parcel volumes are waking up after the Easter lull 🌱📦 This week’s update is about better error messaging, smarter defaults, and making sure all your items make it onto the truck. Let’s get into it:

📮 Royal Mail + Hong Kong – Postcode? No Problem
Hong Kong doesn’t use postcodes — which was causing trouble when creating Royal Mail labels. We’ve added a smart default value (as recommended by Royal Mail) so your shipments can now go through without a hitch. Smooth sailing eastward 🧧

🚫 Palletways Errors – Clearer, Friendlier Feedback
We’ve updated the error message returned when a selected Palletways service isn’t available for a destination. Instead of a cryptic “code and surcharge arguments” message, you’ll now get a clear response:
“Selected service not available for this destination.”
Simple. Understandable. Actionable.

📦 Furdeco – Now Handling All Items
Previously, only the first item in multi-item Furdeco shipments was being sent through. We’ve sorted that — now all items are included as they should be. Because if it’s in the box, it should be in the data.

That’s your mid-spring shipping polish 🧽
From smoother Royal Mail journeys to clearer errors and fuller item lists, this week’s improvements are small but mighty. As always, send us your questions, thoughts, or the best spring snack you’ve shipped lately. Until next time: full trolleys, accurate labels, and no mystery errors.
