We’ve made a batch of default updates to make label creation with DHL eCommerce Americas simpler and more consistent — especially when values aren’t explicitly provided. Here's what happens now:

• Service defaults to DELCON

• Service Endorsement defaults to 1 (aka “box”)

• Shipping Cost Currency defaults to USD

• Declared Value is auto-calculated as the total item value

• Insured Value is set to match the declared value (as requested by DHL)

• Duties Paid defaults to true for a cleaner customs experience

• If no shipping charge is submitted, we’ll send $1 USD as a placeholder

All of this is configurable in courier specifics, but we’ve made the base setup easier for anyone just getting started.
